Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” Las Vegas tribute show is still thrilling audiences in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.

Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

Besides being one of the top-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.

Ask Google “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In the spring of 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas VIP tickets at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.

In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to launch his own show.

He began a steady touring schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”

He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.

The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
